Turkey Traffic Trap Kept Plainfield Cops Busy
During a Thanksgiving holiday crackdown, Plainfield Police made numerous arrests and wrote even more citations.

Plainfield Police were among the local and state law officers to conduct extra seat belt and drunk driving enforcement over the Thanksgiving holiday.
During this period, the police made 15 arrests and issued 208 citations.

Here is the breakdown provided by Plainfield Police Department:
- - 3 arrests for possession of cannabis
- - 2 arrests for possession of drug paraphernalia
- - 1 arrest for driving while license revoked
- - 6 arrests for driving under the influence
- - 1 arrest for resisting arrest
- - 1 arrest for fleeing/attempting to elude police
- - 1 arrest for reckless driving
- - 2 citations for illegal transportation of alcohol
- - 88 citations for failing to wear seatbelt
- - 18 citations for violation of child passenger safety act
- - 23 citations for no insurance
- - 34 citations for speeding
- - 11 citations for illegal use of cell phone
- - 32 other citations
The next crackdown will be over Christmas and New Year’s from Dec. 19 to Jan. 4. This is part of a statewide ”Click It or Ticket” and ”Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns.
