• Freedom House gets $50K boost for new Kewanee shelter (galesburg.com) — Freedom House, founded by Princeton resident Nedda Simon, is expanding its services with a new 40-bed shelter in Kewanee while continuing to operate its 28-bed emergency shelter in Princeton. Serving Bureau and surrounding counties, the agency offers free 24/7 crisis support, advocacy, and counseling for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and is currently fundraising for the new facility.
