Quincy woman arrested for passing bad checks in Lewis County (khqa.com) β A woman from Quincy is jailed in Lewis County, Missouri after prosecutors say an investigation tied her to multiple bad checks written to Canton-area businesses totaling nearly $1,900. She was arrested in Adams County and is being held in Lewis County on a cash-only bond while the felony charges move forward.

Iowan's new book details bygone eras of Mississippi River culture (kjan.com) β A new book from Iowa folklorist Sherry Pardee captures the life of legendary Mississippi River fisherman Clinton βBusβ Downs, who later moved to Quincy after the 1993 flood. Downs, a third-generation fisherman born in 1915, spent his final years at the Quincy Veterans Home, and his stories and vintage photos trace how the river and its culture changed over decades.
