• Cathy Lynn Schmidt, 60 (effinghamradio.com) — Family and friends are mourning the passing of 60-year-old Cathy Lynn Schmidt of Newton, whose loved ones include a step-brother living in Robinson. Services will be held later this week in Newton, with visitation Thursday evening and burial at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Saved by Grace Animal Rescue.
