2 Killed In Romeoville Crash: Will County Coroner
A Joliet man and a Braidwood man died at the scene of the Friday afternoon crash.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A driver and passenger were killed in a crash Friday afternoon near Lewis University, officials said.
On Sunday, the Will County Coroner's Office identified the men as Ali Jabali, 46, of Joliet, and 55-year-old Gustavo A. Loustaunau Orosa of Braidwood.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near the intersection of Route 53 and University Parkway, according to the coroner.

Jabali was the driver of the vehicle and Loustaunau Orosa was a passenger.
Shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, Lewis University police issued an alert, warning motorists of a crash just north of the campus on Route 53. After the crash, both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed for several hours between Renwick Road and Airport Road.

Police said Route 53 had reopened shortly before 9:30 p.m. and a service road leading from the campus to Renwick Road was closed.
