2 People Suffer Minor Injuries In Early-Morning Romeoville Crash: PD

The head-on collision occurred when the driver of a vehicle failed to yield while turning onto 135th Street from Independence Boulevard.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Two people suffered minor injuries in a head-on crash Friday morning that temporarily blocked the northbound lanes of Route 53, police said.

Both drivers of the vehicles were injured in the crash, which took place near Independence Boulevard and 135th Street just before 5:45 a.m., police said.

Police said that a Chevrolet traveling south on Independence Boulevard failed to yield while turning east onto 135th Street. A Dodge traveling north on Independence hit the turning vehicle. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Police were able to clear the scene and allowed traffic to resume normal patterns after both drivers were taken away for treatment of their injuries.
