Annual 'Cops & Bobbers' Fishing Derby Set For June 14

The free event for ages 3 to 17 will be held from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at the Wesglen Clubhouse.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Join the Village of Romeoville and the Romeoville Fraternal Order of Police for the fifth annual Cops & Bobbers fishing derby on June 14.

The free event for ages 3 to 17 will be held from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at the Wesglen Clubhouse, 200 Wesglen Parkway, in Romeoville.

According to the Village, there will be prizes for the largest fish, most fish and smallest fish. You must be a Romeoville resident to participate.

Participants will get complimentary giveaways and lunch, but must supply their own equipment to fish. You must register by June 7 for this event.

The event will happen rain or shine, the Village said. If there is lightning or if there is other dangerous weather, then fishing will be halted and attendees will take shelter.
