ROMEOVILLE, IL — A 16-year-old Chicago boy was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Thursday and is being held on $5 million bond in connection with the June shooting death of a 19-year-old man at the Scene75 Entertainment Center in Romeoville, police said.

Romeoville Police detectives had obtained an arrest for the teenager on July 5 in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred after 10 p.m. on June 24 at the popular Romeoville venue. A 16-year-old teenager was also shot and wounded in the incident, which police said stemmed from an argument outside of Scene75, 460 Weber Road.

On Thursday, Romeoville Police — along with the U.S. Marshal’s Service — found the boy in the 4500 block of North Magnolia in Chicago, police said on Thursday. He was taken into custody and has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm, police said in a news release.

The suspect, who has not been named by police, is being held on $5 million bond. The Will County Coroner has not yet released the name of the man who was shot and killed. The 16-year-old shooting victim was in stable condition following the incident last month.

Police officials said Thursday’s arrest was the result of a “lengthy and complicated” investigation and through a joint effort between Romeoville Police, the U.S. Marshal’s Office, and the Chicago Police Department.
