Drainage Improvements Approved For Romeoville Subdivision

The contract is for $101,142.54 with Allied Water Services.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its June 18 meeting, the Romeoville Village Board approved a contract for drainage improvements in the Honeytree subdivision.

The contract is for $101,142.54 with Allied Water Services, according to Board documents. The Village has received $71,142.54 from the Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program administered through Will County.

"[This] allows us to straighten up some of the drainage issues that we have in Honeytree," Public Works Director Chris Drey said.

The Village's portion of the project will be $30,000, which is available in the fiscal year 2026 budget.

"We're comfortable with this project, and we appreciate the support we have from the county," Drey said.

"Projects like this, people don't necessarily focus on them all that much," Mayor John Noak said. "But the reality is, probably over the last 15 to 20 years, the Village has, especially on the east side of the community, made a tremendous amount of investment, especially on this topic of stormwater management."

Work will be done at five locations throughout the subdivision; near Honeybear Lane, Farmbrook Court, Elmwood Road, Willow Court and Saybrook Court.
