First Bottled Beer Brewed in Romeoville Sells Fast
Metal Monkey Brewing sold most of their first batch of bottled beer

Romeoville's Metal Monkey Brewing has sold just about all of its first batch of bottled beer, according to the Herald-News. The special batch is called Asmodeus, and it is a barrel-aged Russian imperial boasting a strong 12 percent alcohol-by-volume. Most beers have alcohol-by-volume percentages in the mid-single digits.
Dan Camp, Metal Monkey co-founder and brewmaster, said they brewed the beer in April for a festival. Only a few kegs were used for the event and the rest was put into 1,000 bottles. The brewery sold about 700 bottles in the first weekend they were available.
“This bottle release is a big milestone for Metal Monkey Brewing,” said Romeoville Mayor John Noak in a press release. “It is exciting to have the first bottled beer ever manufactured in Romeoville come out this season."
