Forest Preserve Receives $33K Donation From Nature Foundation
Among other things, the donation will be used for bike racks at Isle a la Cache and Hidden Lakes Trout Farm.
WILL COUNTY, IL — The Nature Foundation of Will County presented a $33,400 donation check to the Forest Preserve at the District’s monthly Board meeting on June 13, according to a release from the preserve.
The money will be used for:
- The Forest Preserve’s award-winning seum in Romeoville and Hidden Lakes Trout Farm in Bolingbrook.
- Fish derby stocking at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm via Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Outdoor Fund.
- Educational equipment and supplies for youth programs, public programs and community outreach at Hidden Oaks Nature Center in Bolingbrook via the Sgt. Thomas M. Gilbert Memorial Foundation.
The donations are designed to protect nature and inspire discovery, said Tara Neff, the Foundation’s executive director.

Neff encouraged people to support the Foundation's ongoing fundraising efforts by attending the upcoming Gardens Gone Native Tour on July 13.
Another way to support the Foundation is to purchase native plants during the Summer Blooms Native Plant Sale, which began online on June 22, and runs through 4 p.m. on July 13.
