Freddie's Frozen Custard Adding Romeoville Location This Summer

The Kansas-based fast-casual chain will add its 18th Illinois location with a restaurant that will be built just south of Weber and Airport.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville residents in search of a cool summer treat will have another option in the coming months as village officials announced the newest Illinois location of Freddie’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will be moving in soon.

The Romeoville location, which will be located just south of Weber Road and Airport, is slated to open later this summer, according to a social media post on Tuesday. The Freddie’s website lists the Romeoville site — the 18th in Illinois — as coming soon.

Village Manager Dawn Caldwell wrote in an email to Patch that the Freddie's franchise has closed on the property at Romeoville Crossings and that the restaurant will include 3,150 square feet of space and will include a drive-thru.

The Kansas-based fast-casual chain was started in 2002 and has more than 380 locations in 32 states around the country.

The restaurant offers burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and a number of frozen treats including frozen custard creations like sundaes, concretes, and cones.
