Lewis' Basketball Doubleheader Canceled Due To Health Protocols

The men's and women's programs were set to face Southern Indiana on Tuesday.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Lewis University's women's and men's basketball doubleheader which was scheduled for Tuesday against Southern Indiana, has been canceled due to health and safety protocols, according to the university's athletic department.

Per the current Great Lakes Valley Conference Resocialization of Competition, these games will be considered no contests and will not be made up this season.

Lewis' next scheduled doubleheader on Thursday at Truman State is not impacted at this time, the university said.

This is not the first game that has been canceled recently for Lewis athletics due to COVID-19 protocols. According to the athletics website, a Dec.29 game for Lewis men's basketball game against East/West University was also canceled.

The Jan. 2 opening match for the men's volleyball program against UC Irvine was also canceled, according to the university's website.
