Lewis Basketball Games, Swim Meet Canceled

The events have been canceled due to health and safety protocols within the athletic programs.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Several athletic events at Lewis University have been canceled due to health and safety programs within athletic programs at the school.

The Lewis University's men's basketball game against Missouri-St. Louis scheduled for this Thursday is among several cancelations at the school, according to the university website. Per the current GLVC Resocialization of Competition, this game will be considered no contest and will not be made up this season. The Flyers next scheduled game is on Saturday against McKendree at 3 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena.

Two games have also been canceled for the woman's basketball program. The games scheduled for Thursday against Missouri-St. Louis and for Saturday against McKendree have been canceled and will be considered no contests, according to the university website. The Flyers next scheduled game is on Monday against Lindenwood at 5:30 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena.

According to the university website, Lewis University's men's and women's swimming dual meet at the University of Chicago scheduled for Friday has also been canceled. Saturday's tri-meet against Davenport and Olivet Nazarene is still on as scheduled at this time.

Due to the university's updated event attendance restrictions, Lewis has also postponed the induction ceremony for the third class of the Lewis Academy of Coaches, which was scheduled for Saturday. The event will be rescheduled for later in the spring.
