Man Charged In Romeoville With Unlawful Use Of Weapon: Police

Martenaze D. Williamson, 28, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A male was charged with unlawful use of weapon in Romeoville on Tuesday, according to the Illinois State Police.

An ISP trooper stopped a vehicle matching the description of a car wanted for unlawful use of a weapon on Interstate 55 northbound — at approximately milepost 259 — south of Weber Road, that was broadcasted over the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network.

The passenger, Martenaze D. Williamson, 28, of Carroll, Iowa, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility where he remains in custody, police said.

During the investigation, the trooper learned that the driver, Khalil R. Black, 24, of Carroll, Iowa, had two active warrants for his arrest — theft and obstruction and failure to appear.

Black was arrested for both active warrants. He posted a bond of $35,000 and was released with a future court date.
