No Permit Fees For Restaurants Requiring Outdoor Seating: Village
As eateries prepare to reopen, the village will waive up to $1,000 permit and application fees for those needing outdoor seating.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — In a social media post on Saturday, the Village of Romeoville announced that with Illinois moving into Phase 3 of the governor's Reopen Illinois Plan, the village will be waiving permit and application fees of up to $1,000 for those businesses who will be required to add or expand outdoor seating.
At a recent press conference, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced restaurants and bars across Illinois can begin preparing to reopen at the end of the month if they can provide outdoor seating for customers.
The village also said no additional permits are needed for businesses that currently have outdoor seating and follow state guidelines for social distancing. More information will be available soon on here.

Additionally, the village has created a Small Business Community Grant Program to provide assistance to the smallest and hardest hit businesses that are struggling during this time. $500 grants will be given to businesses who apply and meet qualifications, including those that had less than $500,000 in sales for the 2018 tax year.
"We are doing our best, as a municipality, to support our local businesses through this unprecedented time," stated Mayor John Noak. "We encourage our residents to eat and shop locally whenever they can and together, we can keep our businesses open."
