Plant Sale Planned At Isle A La Cache

The in-person sale is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 18, and 9 a.m. to noon on May 19, at Isle a la Cache.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Nature Foundation of Will County will host its first in-person plant sale on May 18 and May 19 at Isle a la Cache preserve in Romeoville, according to a release from the preserve.

The in-person sale is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 18, and 9 a.m. to noon on May 19, at Isle a la Cache. The 2024 sale will focus on pollinators and will feature a variety of monarch butterfly, hummingbird and bee favorites, according to the preserve.

Plants range in price from $3 for plugs to $15 for 1-gallon containers. The event is rain or shine. Bring your own box and fill it up as you shop. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted, the preserve said.

Native plant talks will also be offered in Traders Cabin during the plant sale.

On Saturday, several vendors will be at the sale to offer items for sale and plant advice. Vendors include: Wild Birds Unlimited – Joliet, Will County Audubon, the Village of Romeoville’s Conservation and Sustainability Committee, Pizzo & Associates and Good Steward Ecoscapes.

Forest Preserve staff will be on-site selling nature-related apparel and merchandise from its Outsider Threads line. Proceeds benefit The Nature Foundation of Will County, the preserve said.

There will be more opportunities to buy native plants throughout the summer, including on June 15, and Aug. 3-4 at Isle a la Cache.
