Road Safety Community Open House Planned In Romeoville
The open house is part of a county plan to make Will County roads safer.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — For those interested in making Will County roads safer, a community open house will be hosted in Romeoville on Sept. 24.
The Village of Romeoville is serving on the Will County Safety Action Plan Steering Committee, which has a goal to "make roads safer, reduce crash severity and save lives," according to the Village's Facebook page.
The first open house will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Ovation Center, 349 S. Weber.

Locals can also go to the project website and view the Safety Hotspots Map to share roads in the area that they feel are dangerous.
According to the project website, in Will County, "61 percent of fatal and serious crashes occurred on just 8 percent of streets, with streets in low-income communities and communities of color having twice the likelihood of a fatal or serious injury crash."
