Romeoville 3rd-Graders Learn How Local Government Works

A trip to Village Hall and a meeting with the village manager?

Now, that's a perfect topper for a third-grade classroom's government unit, don't you think?

And that's exactly what happened on Tuesday as third-graders from Romeoville's Irene King Elementary School visited Romeoville Village Hall and met with Village Manager Steve Gulden, according to a Valley View School District news release.

No word on whether the students were allowed sit in the mayor's chair or call a "pretend" meeting to order by tapping his gavel.
