Romeoville Boys Soccer Advances To First Round Of Sectionals

Romeoville will face Stagg at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the first round of sectionals.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville High School boys soccer team is headed to the first round of sectionals after their win over Lincoln-Way Central on Friday.

According to the IHSA website, Romeoville will face Stagg at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the first round of sectionals. The winner of that match will face the winner of Shepard and Bloom Township.

The team that wins the second round of sectional competition will move onto the super sectional match.

Coach Nicholas Cirrincione told Patch he was looking forward to another chance to watch the team compete.

"Looking forward [to] the community to come show up at 7 p.m. at Lockport High School to cheer on the Spartans!! Let's make it a memorable night for all," he said.

To advance into sectional competition, Romeoville won against Reavis, 7-0, in the first round of regionals, and defeated Lincoln-Way Central 4-0 to become regional champions.

The Class 3A boys soccer state final tournament will be held in Hoffman Estates on Nov. 4-5.
