Romeoville Business Owner Secures Donation To Enhance STEM At D365U
The businessman secured an ExxonMobil donation for the 12th consecutive year to help enhance STEM programs at Valley View D365U.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville business owner secured a donation from ExxonMobil for the 12th consecutive year to help enhance science, technology, engineering and math programs at Valley View Community Unit School District 365U, officials said.
Mohammed Qurashi, the owner and president of Romeoville Mobil at 135th Street and Route 53, presented a $500 check to Beverly Skoff Elementary School Principal Cheryl Lockard and Assistant Principal Jean Bruno on behalf of the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program.
The elementary school is the beneficiary of this year's donation and plans to use the money to help supplement the school's STEM program and activities, district officials said in a news release Wednesday.

"We are grateful for Mohammed Qurashi’s never-ending commitment to our schools and our community," Lockard said in a statement. "For 12 years in a row now, he has secured this grant for a VVSD school. This year’s grant will help Skoff further enhance the STEM offerings we provide for our students."
The ExxonMobil program's goal is to foster "aha" moments in students by providing STEM funding to schools across the country, according to district officials. The company has donated upward of $40 million to schools.
