Romeoville Cooling Centers Available As Summer Heat Approaches

Temperatures in the mid-90s are expected next week.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — With a possible heat wave expected next week with temperatures well into the 90s, Romeoville residents are reminded that the Village offers cooling centers for those in need.

The Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road, is open as a cooling center from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Village website.

Warm temperatures are expected through next week. Wednesday and Thursday will both have a high of 90 degrees, before things cool to the 80s on Friday and Saturday.

The heat returns on Sunday, which will have a high of 93. Monday will also have a high of 93, and Tuesday a high of 94, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
