Romeoville Domestic Incident Was Murder-Suicide: Police
Zena Tahar and Firas Syriani were found dead on Ponderosa Drive with gunshot wounds.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville Police have determined that a domestic-related incident that claimed the lives of two people last week was a murder-suicide, police said on Friday.
The Will County Coroner this week identified the two Romeoville residents as being Zena Tahar, 27, and Firas Syriani, 33. The coroner’s office determined that Tahar had been the victim of a gunshot wound after she was pronounced dead at 2:47 p.m. on June 1. Syriani had also died as a result of a gunshot wound, the coroner said after autopsies were conducted a day after their deaths.
On Friday, Romeoville Police Chief Brant Hromadka told Patch that the police investigation determined that the incident was indeed a murder-suicide and that Syriani had been determined to be the shooter. He provided no other information about the investigation.
