Romeoville HS Freshmen Football Team Wins Conference
The team won the Southwestern Prairie Conference at the freshmen level for the first time in 20 years.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville High School freshmen football team had a very successful season this year, winning the Southwestern Prairie Conference at the freshmen level for the first time in 20 years, Coach Richard Rujawitz told Patch.
Rujawitz said the team started the season slow, losing its first four non-conference games.
"The team never gave up and continued to improve. Each week, you could see the team getting better and better," Rujawitz said.

By the time conference games began, the team began winning, defeating teams like Joliet Central, Plainfield Central and Plainfield East. The team went 4-1, and won the SPC conference championship at the freshmen level.
"We are very proud of all our players, coaches, and all who were involved in our team's accomplishments. We are looking forward to seeing our players grow in the coming years," Rujawitz said.
