Romeoville Participates in Nationwide Water Conservation Challenge
The Village of Romeoville invites their residents to join them in conservation efforts by taking the Wyland Water Conservation Challenge.

From April 1 – April 30, the Village of Romeoville invites their residents to join them in conservation efforts by taking the Wyland Water Conservation Challenge.
Wyland Water Conservation Challenge is a friendly competition between cities across the US to see who can be the most “water-wise.” Mayor Noak and mayors nationwide are challenging their residents to conserve water, energy, and other natural resources on behalf of their city through a series of informative, easy to-use online pledges. Cities with the highest percentage of residents who take the challenge win. Every person makes a difference.
30 prizes will be given away every day during the month of April to those nationwide who have taken the pledge. Head to mywaterpledge.com to see what you can win.

In addition to participating in the national competition, Romeoville will be competing against other Grand Prairie Water Commission communities (Joliet, Shorewood, Minooka, Channahon, and Crest Hill) to see who can get the most residents to pledge to save water. If Romeoville gets more pledges than the other members of the water commission, they will win the coveted Grand Prairie traveling trophy!
“Conservation of water is a key priority in Romeoville,” said Mayor Noak. “We are replacing water mains, hunting for and fixing leaks in our lines, and lining sewer mains as part of a multi-year program to greatly reduce water that escapes our system. Encouraging residents to use water in a more efficient way compliments our goal. I support the Wyland Water Conservation and hope every resident can incorporate a few water conservation practices into their daily routines.”
