Romeoville’s Finance Department Wins Financial Reporting Award

It's the department's 11th consecutive reporting award

The Village of Romeoville’s Finance Department has been honored with their 11th consecutive Excellence in Financial Reporting Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The Certificate of Achievement was in recognition of the Village’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2024. The CAFR was judged to meet the high standards of the program, which included demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“Financial transparency in government is of the utmost importance,” said Mayor John Noak. “I am very proud to say that the presentation of our yearly finances, which are available on our website for the tax paying public to review, are consistently recognized by a third party for their excellence. Our Finance Department does a marvelous job and deserves this recognition.”
