Several Burglaries Committed In Romeoville: Police Ask For Leads
According to a release from the Romeoville police, a number of cigarette and alcohol stores were targeted by burglars on Aug. 28.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Romeoville Police Department said that Romeoville suffered a string of burglaries to retail establishments on Aug. 28. Additionally, similar burglaries occurred in several other communities in Will county the same morning.
At approximately 1:49 a.m., police responded to Cigarettes Cheaper, at 423 N. Weber Road, regarding a burglary alarm. Officers found the door of the business to be damaged and open. A large quantity of cigarettes had been taken.
Officers were dispatched at 2:02 a.m. to the Romeoville Smoke Shop located at 464 N. Independence Boulevard. Upon arrival, the police found the glass front door to be broken. A large quantity of cigarettes and cigars were taken.

At 2:21 a.m., officers were dispatched to Citgo Service Station at 415 New Ave. regarding a burglary alarm. Based on the surveillance video, the offenders used a sledgehammer to break the glass of the front door. A number of them entered the facility with garbage bags and began filling the bags with cigarettes and currency. They fled in a dark-colored BMW SUV and a silver Infinity SUV, police said.
According to Romeoville police, the people responsible for these also burglarized C D Liquors located at 322 N. Independence Boulevard on Aug. 22. According to the owner of the store, two young male suspects with orange and black hoodies stole from the establishment at 9:11 p.m.

"We are looking help from community residents and businesses to find these both suspects which made lose us $400 approx. amount of liquor from our display shelves. They both literally ran out with products and drove with their lady partner in car which we believed was Grey Nissan Murano," the owner wrote on Facebook.
The cases are actively being investigated and anyone with information on the identity of these suspects should contact the Romeoville Police Department Investigations unit at (815) 886-7219 ext. 3054.
