Tasty Waffle Temporarily Closed After July 8 Fire Damages
The fire was contained to the office, and the damage inside the restaurant was caused by water from the suppression system.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Tasty Waffle will remain closed for 10-14 days after a fire on July 8, according to a social media post.
At 4:34 p.m., the Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to an automatic fire alarm at 632 S. Weber Road in Romeoville. Firefighters found a small fire in the office that had activated the fire suppression system.
The fire was contained to the office, and the majority of damage inside the restaurant was caused by water from the suppression system, said Frank J. Blaskey, deputy chief of the Lockport Fire Department.

The unit was unoccupied at the time of the incident. None of the other units were affected by the initial incident. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, Blaskey said, but it is being investigated by the Lockport Fire Investigators.
"We'd like to thank you for your continues support, and we will be posting updates in our current situation," Tasty Waffle wrote in the Facebook post.
