Valley View Athletes Compete At Girls Badminton State Finals

Six students, from both Bolingbrook and Romeoville HS, competed in the state finals.

WILL COUNTY, IL — Six Valley View student-athletes competed in the girls IHSA Badminton Championship on May 10 and 11 in DeKalb, according to a release from the District.

Romeoville High School senior Clarie An competed in the singles competition; as well as Bolingbrook High School senior Emily Calderon, the District said.

Bolingbrook HS also sent two doubles teams to the state finals; seniors Maitri Patel and Isabella Yap, and senior Viviana Garcia and junior Issa Andora.

According to IHSA, Palatine finished first in the state tournament; while Bolingbrook tied for 19th and Romeoville tied for 39th.

IHSA has sponsored a girls' badminton state tournament since 1977, according to the state series website.
