Valley View Honors All-State Athletes, 'Yes I Can' Winner
The Board of Education honored several students at its Dec. 13 meeting.
ROMEOVILLE, IL - At the Valley View School District Board of Education last week, the Board honored several students for their achievements so far this year.
First, was R.C. Hill student Joy Bonsu, who received the Illinois Council for Exceptional Children "Yes I Can!" award. Bonsu received the award in the area of technology.
Valley View staff said there were only seven winners in the state, and Bonsu was the District's only winner in the area of technology.

Several student-athletes were also honored by the board for earning all-state honors:
Bolingbrook High School students Kyan Berry Johnson and Jonas Williams were honored as Illinois High School Football Coaches Association all-state players.

Football coach Titcus Pettigrew said Kyan is a wide receiver, and Jonas plays as quarterback for Bolingbrook.
The Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association named Bolingbrook High School student Aaron Palacios-Chanel and Romeoville High School student Isaiah Pina as all-state soccer players.
Palacios-Chanel played midfield and is the ninth player in program history to earn the honor, coaching staff said.
The Illinois High School Volleyball Coaches Association also recognized Bolingbrook High School students Noelle Aprati and Sarah Harvey, and Romeoville High School Karmeron Blizniak, Taylor Cicero and Demi Cole as all-state volleyball players.
