"[The improvements include] extending the parking lot to the south, making some improvements and adding a total of 173 [spots]," Drey said.

"This will accommodate a lot more parking; it gives us better access to the back of the pavilion and will help us separate the pedestrian traffic from vehicle traffic as we have different bands and vendors coming back and forth," he added.

Mayor John Noak said as more people attend Village events, there is a greater need for parking and hard surface to use for events.

Drey said the expansion target finish date is June 20.
