Deals & Treasures Route 59 Grand Opening Nears In Shorewood
Shorewood Economic Development Director Natalie Engel expects Deals & Treasures will be well-received by area residents.

SHOREWOOD, IL — One of the first new stores to open in the Joliet area in 2023 could take place in Shorewood near the Mariano's grocery store. The highly anticipated Deals & Treasures is expected to open during the first part of January, according to Shorewood village officials.
Deals & Treasures is in the Route 59 shopping plaza, next door to Marshalls. A Nov. 1 announcement of its upcoming store opening in Shorewood generated 200 Facebook shares and 239 comments.
"We got couple more things to do, and make sure it’s under the codes of the village to make sure we have a safe and clean establishment for the people and our environment," Deals & Treasures updated everyone in a Facebook post from Dec. 18. "We will see you all beginning of next year."

According to the Deals & Treasures Facebook page, "we fill our store with all sorts of amazing merchandise, and you get to pick whatever you want for the price of that specific day."
Deals & Treasures states that "Every week we get new truck loads filled with electronics, home decor, toys, home appliances, general merchandise, clothing and much more."

The Deals & Treasures storefront is at 1004 Brook Forest Ave. The Facebook page indicates the store's prices change throughout the week:
Friday $10: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday $8: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday $6 to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday $5 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesday $3 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday $1 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday the store is closed for restocking.
Shorewood's economic development director Natalie Engel told Joliet Patch during a recent interview that the village staff is in the process of making sure Deals & Treasures store adheres to all the village's building codes and regulations before its occupancy permit is granted.
Engel believes that Deals & Treasures will become a popular destination for area shoppers once the store opens. It's considered a discount store.
