Gun Smuggled Out After Motel Room Shooting: Cops
Police say they caught the shooter but the gun was already gone.

JOLIET, IL — A guest of Fenton’s Motel shot up his room before going outside and firing into the air Tuesday night, police said.
Treston Adams, 24, was taken into custody about 10:30 p.m. when officers reporting to a call of a disturbance at the West Jefferson Street motel learned he had been doing some shooting, police said.
There were at least two women in the room with Adams when he opened fire, police said. One of the women, 20-year-old Tylesha Jackson of Rockdale, allegedly wouldn’t go away when motel management told her to leave, and then struggled with officers as they escorted her out.

Jackson was arrested and released on her own recognizance.
Officers found three spent shell casings in Adams’ motel room, a bullet hole in the floor and a black BB gun, police said, but no sign of the real gun.

Officers learned another man took the gun and drove off with it, police said, but have not been able to identify him.
Adams, an ex-convict who was released from prison in July, was taken to the Will County jail.
