Hippity-Hop Success At The Timbers Of Shorewood
More than 1,000 people attended the Hippity-Hop Easter Egg Hunt where 15,000 eggs were used in the outdoor egg hunt.
Local children of all ages and their families attended the Hippity-Hop Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.
This was the second egg hunt since 2019 at the Timbers, and it is estimated that more than 1,000 people attended the event. 15,000 eggs were ordered and filled with candy for the outdoor egg hunt.
“Seeing more than 1,000 members of our community, from the littlest egg hunters to our wonderful seniors, come together to enjoy Easter fun and create new memories was fantastic,” said Sheila Albor, director of marketing at The Timbers. “We're delighted the Hippity-Hop Easter Egg Hunt remains such a cherished event in Shorewood."

The egg hunt featured prizes for everyone along with plenty of kid-friendly entertainment including:
- Photos with the Easter Bunny
- Petting zoo, with 25-30 farmyard animals including: goats, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, a pot-bellied pig, and a bunny rabbit
- Caricature artists
- Games, prizes, popcorn, hot chocolate, and cookies
Although it is unclear where exactly the egg hunt tradition stems from, eggs and bunnies are symbolic of spring and rebirth. Birds tend to lay their eggs in the spring, and rabbits are very fertile animals whose babies are known to scurry about this time of year.
