New Bar & Grill: There's Nothing Like Papa Magoo's Near Shorewood
Friday is the grand opening for Papa Magoo's Bar & Grill, called Shorewood's newest destination for food, fun and unforgettable memories.

SHOREWOOD — A bar like no other in the Shorewood area will mark its grand opening celebration Friday. You won't find Papa Magoo's Bar & Grill along Route 59, or the Jefferson Street corridor in the heart of the village.
"I like it because it's hidden. People like that ... but we're off Route 52 and County Line Road," explained Jim Moretti, owner of Papa Magoo's. "We're attached to the big white dome. Everything is brand new. We built this place from the ground up.
"The menu will grow as the business will grow. We are going to have the NFL (Sunday) Ticket and all the sports."

Located a couple miles west of Shorewood, Papa Magoo's is surrounded by farmland, thousands and thousands of giant cornstalks. The mailing address is 14285 South County Line Road, Shorewood. It's just within the boundaries of Kendall County.

Signs on the doors indicate Papa Magoo's plans to stay open daily, from around 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Papa Magoo's is connected to the Go Pro Sports Dome that opened last October.

Friday's grand opening will feature live music and a DJ from 7 p.m. until close. There's also a "limited time offer" of $3 for all domestic beers and well drinks. The bar menu lists 16 different bottled beers and 14 different beers on tap, plus two wines and seven soft drinks.
"Come out and check out our new place," Moretti said.
The promotion flyer for Papa Magoo's reads: "Shorewood's newest and most exciting destination for food, fun and unforgettable memories offers a vibrant atmosphere perfect for dining in or enjoying drinks at our bar."
As for the owner, Moretti said he previously owned and operated a bar in Bedford Park, which he sold in 2019. Moretti said another business partner runs the Go Pro Sports Dome, which opened last October.

The Magoo's Favorite consists of a "meatball sandwich served with homemade Italian gravy, provolone cheese and sweet/hot peppers."
There's also bone-in and boneless wings and ice cream sundaes for desserts. And there's a kid's menu.
In several weeks, Papa Magoo's will be adding video gambling slot machines; another room will feature two golf simulators. The bar has several dart boards plus the long-time arcade favorite, Golden Tee.
Papa Magoo's also has a party room that customers can rent out for events.
Papa Magoo's expects to draw a large share of business from the Go Pro Sports Dome which attracts youth baseball traveling teams, soccer and football year-round indoor competition, bringing families from out of town to the Shorewood area.
