Pizza Ranch In Shorewood Will No Longer Stay Open 7 Days A Week

SHOREWOOD — Nearly 18 months after the area's first Pizza Ranch opened near Joliet, the Shorewood Pizza Ranch announced on Tuesday that it will no longer stay open seven days a week.

"Effective Immediately: Your Shorewood Pizza Ranch WILL BE CLOSED on Mondays going further. I want to apologize to our New and Loyal Customers. I’m very sorry. No restaurant ever wants to close on a day if they don’t have to," the general manager of the Shorewood Pizza Ranch announced on Facebook.

On Tuesday, several people posted comments on the Shorewood Pizza Ranch Facebook page in response to the restaurant's announcement that it was reducing its days of operation.
The comments included:

• "If you guys dropped your prices a little like you did with your promo last year I think it would bring in more people, but your buffet is as much as Golden Corral, and they have so many more options."
• "Don’t scare me like that. I can deal with one day. Thanks for the great service and food!"
• "One of my favorite places! Very cost-effective considering everything is unlimited and you don’t even have to pay for drinks!!!!! One day will not hurt me and my kids enjoy this place a lot! Friendly staff and always clean."
• "Obviously they are hurting and will be closing soon. Need a better location, not on a frontage road."

In July 2023, Joliet Patch covered the grand opening event for the new Shorewood Pizza Ranch. On that day, several hundred inquisitive Joliet area food enthusiasts traveled to 19735 NE Frontage Road in Shorewood for the grand opening of the area's very first Pizza Ranch. It's near the Interstate 55 exit for Joliet and Shorewood.

Most of the Pizza Ranch restaurants are scattered across Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

"It's a madhouse right now. We're getting a good response from the community. People are liking the food, the Fun Zone, the culture," remarked Shorewood Pizza Ranch owner Brijesh Patel on the date of his 2023 grand opening.

At that time, Shorewood's new Pizza Ranch announced it would be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ordering food from the buffet opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. The Fun Zone arcade features two dozen games including Mario Kart, King Kong Versus Godzilla, Jurassic Park and two Virtual Reality games, according to Patel.
