Shorewood Thrilled With Dollar Tree's Opening Day: 8 Photos
People have waited for months in anticipation of Shorewood getting its first Dollar Tree store. On Thursday, the doors opened for real.

SHOREWOOD, IL — If you were in Shorewood on Thursday, you probably noticed a lot more smiling and happy faces than normal. That's because many Shorewood residents were thrilled to finally see the doors open for the newly built Dollar Tree store off Black Road and Route 59.
It's located next to the Aldi supermarket and near the Home Depot store.
Thursday's opening drew hundreds of shoppers into the Dollar Tree. While Joliet Patch was interviewing the store's manager, a handful of shoppers approached to let the manager know that they were extremely appreciative to finally have a Dollar Tree open in Shorewood.

"We have a great variety, everyone seems super excited," remarked Kaityln, the store manager. "We've been quite busy. Before we opened at 9, we had a line of people out here this morning."
Dollar Tree is stocked with plenty of merchandise for summer graduation parties.

The new Dollar Tree has about 30 employees. The Shorewood Dollar Tree is now open seven days a week. Its hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
"We have a lot of great snacks," Kaitlyn wanted everyone to know.
