Skooters Reopening As Irish-Themed Bar, Shorewood Happy
Shorewood Village Administrator Aaron Klima said the new Irish-themed bar and restaurant is aiming to open during October.

SHOREWOOD, IL — It's been two months and one week since the controversial Skooters Roadhouse at 700 West Jefferson Street abruptly shut down for good. The permanent closure took place just hours before a live music show was scheduled to take place.
Since then, all the Skooters Roadhouse signs were removed, but over the past several days, there's been something in the works signifying that the Skooters propery is not going to be empty much longer.
This month, the building was two shades of green because Skooters is going to be reopened under a new bar and restaurant name, Corrigan's On 52, according to Village of Shorewood Manager Aaron Klima.

Klima told Joliet Patch it's his understanding the ownership team affiliated with Jameson's Pub in Joliet hopes to have Corrigan's open sometime in October.
Corrigan's has worked with Shorewood village officials to obtain the necessary building permits for its remodeling work, according to Klima.

"It's an Irish bar theme," Klima remarked.
The ownership-management team for Corrigan's On 52 also operates Jameson's Pub on Black Road in Joliet, as well as bar and restaurants in Frankfort, Mokena and Chicago.
However, the people who ran Skooter's Roadhouse for them will not be involved in the Corrigan's Pub Irish-themed bar and restaurant concept, several people told Patch.
One employee told Patch that Corrigan's would feature an Irish pasta as well as Irish mashed potatoes as part of the new menu. Corrigan's will have an Irish-American theme, he said.
Klima said that country music will no longer to be the focus of the soon-to-be opening Shorewood bar and restaurant at 700 West Jefferson St.
He said the village believes the Corrigan's concept will be a positive attraction for the community.
"It's going to be more family friendly, more TVs, and they will still have musicians," Klima said. "We're anxious to see what it's going to be. It's an Irish bar concept."
