Timbers Of Shorewood Raises $2,000 For Pink Heals Joliet

The Timbers of Shorewood Senior Living Community donated $2,000 to Pink Heals Joliet chapter on October 31, 2025. October is breast cancer awareness month and was the inaugural breast cancer fundraising campaign for the Timbers of Shorewood. Pink Heals Joliet supports local families impacted by cancer.

The $2,000 was accumulated through several initiatives during October at The Timbers of Shorewood, including:

• A popular series of raffle baskets featuring items donated by local businesses and supporters.
• A heartfelt “Memory Ribbon Wall,” where community members could contribute funds and post tributes to loved ones.
• A lemonade stand fundraiser.
• A dining partnership with Texas Roadhouse

“We are absolutely thrilled by the response and dedication shown by our residents and staff in this first year,” said Sheila Albor, marketing director at The Timbers of Shorewood. “Seeing our community rally together to raise these funds and visibly show support proves the commitment The Timbers has to its neighbors. We are honored to present this donation to Pink Heals Joliet to ensure every dollar supports local fighters and survivors.”

The Timbers of Shorewood was visibly united throughout the month. Residents, staff, and visitors participated in “Pink Fridays,” showing their collective support by wearing pink attire every week in October.

The Timbers of Shorewood Senior Living is a rental retirement community that provides senior independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents whose needs may change are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate and compassionate care. Furnished apartments are also available for short-term stays.
