Wingstop Expanding From Joliet To Route 59

SHOREWOOD, IL — The Which Wich Superior Sandwiches near the Mariano's supermarket along Route 59 is permanently closed, but the empty restaurant will be coming back to life soon. Advertising signs are now displayed along Route 59 letting motorists know that Wingstop will be opening at the Mariano's grocery store shopping center.

"What began as a small buffalo-style chicken wing restaurant in Garland, Texas, continues to soar to great heights," Wingstop's website proclaims. "Today there are more than 1,500 restaurants open across the globe. Wingstop quickly became a fan favorite when we first opened our doors in 1994."

Joliet Patch's editor stopped at the vacant Which Wich on Saturday, and there are now village of Shorewood building permits displayed in the window.

The Wingstop may not be ready to open for several more weeks, but it's definitely going to happen.

The front door to the future Wingstop proclaims that it will be open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. until midnight. The Wingstop will be located next to the En Lai 59 Chinese restaurant.

There is already a Wingstop in Joliet on West Jefferson Street near the Walmart and Menards. The other nearest Wingstop locations are on Route 59 in Plainfield, 159th Street in Lockport, South Weber Road in Romeoville, Route 30 in New Lenox, South Bell Road in Homer Glen, North Bolingbrook Drive in Bolingbrook and South LaGrange Road in Orland Park.
