The request, backed by a transparency-focused nonprofit, asks for electronic records and a fee waiver, with the goal of reporting back to residents on how their local government is spending public money.
   

• Humility Homes & Services emergency shelter braces for extreme cold in Quad Cities (wqad.com) — As dangerous wind chills hit the Quad Cities, a Davenport emergency shelter is preparing extra space for people traveling in from Silvis and other nearby communities that lack overnight options. Staff warn there’s no overflow shelter this year and say they’ll improvise mats and common-room space so no one is turned away during the extreme cold.
