50th Season For Skokie Farmers' Market Kicks Off June 1
This year's weekly farmers' market in Skokie will bring new experiences to celebrate its 50th season.
SKOKIE, IL — The Skokie Farmer's Market will kick off it's 50th season this summer starting June 1, offering fresh seasonal food, sustainable practices and vibrant community spirit.
According to the village, this year's market includes the largest lineup ever, which includes everything from farm-fresh produce and baked goods to bottled cocktails and artisan products.
"Established in 1975, the Market has grown from a small gathering of local farmers into a cherished weekly community event that now features approximately 70 vendors, live music, family-friendly activities and more," officials said in a statement.

New this year, the market will feature live performances weekly from 8 a.m. to noon as well as free weekly children's activities and Pilates each Sunday.
On opening day, special activities and giveaways will help kick off the 50th season:

- 10 a.m. – Opening remarks from Mayor Ann Tennes
- 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – Free face painting by Hardy Party
- 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Free outdoor Pilates on the Village Green with the Pilates Experience
- 10 a.m. to noon – Live music from Judson Main
- Food available for purchase from Cousins Maine food truck
- Free commemorative reusable shopping bags at the Market tent (while supplies last)
Another new addition, each month the market will host monthly themed events including 70s day, a time capsule and a retro recipe revival series.
