McCormick Boulevard Open After Gas Main Break Wednesday: Police

The road is open after drivers were told to avoid southbound McCormick Boulevard from Dempster to Main streets while Nicor was on the scene.

SKOKIE, IL — Southbound lanes on McCormick Boulevard from Dempster to Main streets are open again after a Wednesday morning gas leak led to road closures in the area, police said.

Police were asking drivers to avoid a stretch of North McCormick Boulevard due to a gas main break, officials announced Wednesday morning.

According to a social media post, southbound lanes of McCormick Boulevard were closed from 11:07 a.m. to about 2 p.m. while Nicor was on the scene.
