School Calendar For 2025-26 In All Skokie Districts: Key Dates To Know
Depending on which of Niles Township's 10 districts you attend, the first day of school may be as early as Aug. 12 or as late as Aug. 27.
SKOKIE, IL — Back-to-school planning is already underway in Skokie, with calendars now available to help parents prepare for the first day of classes.
In Skokie, there are nine public elementary school districts that feed into a single high school district — that makes for 10 superintendents, administrative teams, school boards.
But they do not all follow the same calendar.

Some take school off for Rosh Hashanah or Eid al-Fitr, some do not.
Some still call Oct. 13 Columbus Day, while others call it Indigenous People's Day — in line with the state law that swapped them in 2021.

All districts begin school later this month, with most starting their first day on Aug. 25.
In addition to annual federal holidays, here are some of the non-attendance days to get on the calendar ahead of the start of the 2024-25 school year in Niles Township's 10 public school districts:
