Skokie Jewish Community to Hold “Jewish Hearts for Skokie” Installation and Unity Rally on December 11 organized by Chicago Jewish

Alliance and Beautifully Jewish.

Standing together in love and resilience two years after the October 7 attacks and recent antisemitic harassment of Jewish children

Skokie, IL – On the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks—the deadliest assault on Jewish lives since the Holocaust—

Jewish children in Skokie were targeted and shot with gel pellets simply for being Jewish. In direct response to this act of hate, the Skokie Jewish

community invites all residents and allies to a powerful afternoon of healing, visibility, and unbreakable solidarit.

.The event, titled Jewish Hearts for Skokie, will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Shawnee Park (3730 Lee Street, Skokie, IL)

with a community-wide heart-hanging installation. Participants of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to bring or create handmade hearts

bearing messages of hope, unity, and resilience.

Together we will transform the park into a living symbol that love is stronger than hate.At 5:30 PM, the community will gather for an uplifting rally to:

Stand in solidarity with the children and families targeted by antisemitic violence

Honor the memory of those lost and wounded on October 7 and in its aftermath

Send an unmistakable message that Skokie’s Jewish community—and all who stand with us—will not be intimidated

Speakers will include local Jewish leaders, affected families (as they choose), elected officials, and interfaith partners united against hate.**Event
