Saxophonist Tim Warfield's Brings Holiday Cheer to the Famed Jazz Showcase.

Selected as one of the top 20 best holiday recordings in the New York Times for 2013, saxophonist Tim Warfield's Jazzy Christmas, returns to the Jazz Showcase  to showcase a fun collection of traditional holiday songs, realized from an improvisational perspective. The musical programming for this performance, will host a stellar cast, to perform familiar material such as "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night," but will also include a few obscure gems like Claude Thornhill's "Snowfall," and even one Hanukkah song, all in the spirit of the holidays. The arrangements are often quirky, but clearly unique, resourcing as jazz often does, from many other musical genres, while the musicians creatively incorporate the use of rhythmic and harmonic devices as a means to collectively create rich melodic expressions.
