Steven Ham is an Army Veteran who served in Kuwait and Baghdad, Iraq. Since he was young, he has been making people smile with his natural ability to do countless voices and impersonations. Steven Ham is a true talent as a voice-over artist with an ability to do hundreds of voices and impersonations. Ham is also a musician. His start with voice-over work on a professional, credited basis was on a project titled, “The Ripping Friends,” described on IMDb as the “misadventures of a quartet of muscle headed superheroes.” Steven Ham recalls that as a child and throughout his life, he “loved to make people laugh with his impressions and silly voices.” Steven Ham later joined the Army; touring overseas he would entertain people from different cultures with his countless voices and impersonations.

After high school, Steven enlisted in the Army, and completed his Basic Training at Fort Knox, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, GA. He had 3 military occupational specialties (MOS's) as a Signal Support System Specialist, a Heavy Wheel Mechanic and Generator Repair. Steven was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany in 2000, Fort Hood from 2002-2005. He also served in both Kuwait and Baghdad, Iraq in 2004. Steven received many awards during his time in the Army, to include the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Ribbon Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2x) and more than several others. Steven first completed his
Associates Degree in Science at John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois in 2008, and then attended both Western Illinois University and North Central University to complete his Bachelor's in Psychology in 2015, stating, "I do know that my parents pushing me had a lot to do with my success in many ways, I will always be immensely thankful and appreciative of their support and unwavering love."

In a recent interview, Ham discusses his natural talent as a voice over artist. “It’s actually a funny story on how I started doing voice overs. It all started one day, which is odd in itself, mainly because of the timing. The church that I was attending had a pastor fill in, since the regular pastor had resigned. The new pastor, as he introduced himself, told us the story about how he was a competitor on "America’s Got Talent" as a speed painter with the same agent as Steve Whitmire. For those of you who don’t know who Steve Whitmire is, you will when I tell you that he was the voice of "Kermit the Frog" after Jim Henson had sadly passed. As the pastor continued to explain to the congregation of who he was and what he had done, I decided to do my impression of "Kermit the Frog" in the midst of his introduction. The whole congregation turned and looked back at me and started laughing. So, naturally, I started to think about the possibilities of how many voices I could actually do because I love to make people laugh. After that day I started to research voice acting and the many possible careers that someone with my skills could possess and from then on, I was hooked!”

Steven Ham’s IMDb page is as follows: Steven Ham IMDb. His contact information
is available to IMDb Pro members, and he is happy to be considered for voice-over
work in the interim, while in the pursuit of official agency representation.

When asked about some of his favorite characters to do through his voice over work,
these include “Batman - The Animated Series,” “Shaggy and Scooby Doo,” “Winnie
the Pooh,” “Mickey Mouse,” “Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool,” “The Muppets,” “Yogi
Bear,” and “Optimus Prime” from “Transformers.” His reel is available on his IMDb
page. "Readers should take a moment to listen, as his voice-over work is pretty stellar," states an established entertainment colleague. One of the characters that Steven Ham invented is “Milton Mulligan,” who he describes as a “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” nerd with an aptitude for mathematics and science, who speaks in “sci-fi” lingo to communicate and get his point across.”

Ham states, “Voice-over work isn’t just a career, to me, it’s a lifestyle, because part of me is intertwined in the character and I get to bring them to life, and I have been naturally doing voice-overs and impersonations since I was a kid, as I enjoy getting genuine smiles and laughs out of people." Continuing, "I like to think of myself as someone who can lift someone’s mood by using comedy to defeat depression, anger or pain. And, I love seeing the shock on peoples’ faces when I do various voices and then seeing their laughter and enthusiasm to want to hear more is beyond words."

“In my pursuit of learning about Voice-over work and through the pursuit of this work as a full-time career, I have made a lot of friends along the way, and have gained some mentors. I wish to thank Jim Meskimen, Rob Paulsen, Daniel Ross, Jon Bailey, Kaitlyn Robrock, Joe Ochman, Andrea Romano, Pat Brady, Chuck Duran, Kevin Conroy, Michael and Denice Duff, and of course Lisa Pellegrene for giving me advice, support, and direction on my journey as a voice-over talent. These are only a few, but without them I wouldn’t be where I am today! I have nothing but love and respect for them.”

Concluding, “My goals for voice-over work would be to become successful at becoming a full-time voice-over artist, especially in animation voice overs. I’ve always wanted to be the voice of Batman in the animated series for as long as I can remember. Another goal I would like to achieve is being the next “Don LaFontaine” for movie trailers, and of course show up as me and what I can bring to the table, but I must say he was amazing. Hearing his voice has always inspired me. When I heard his voice on movie trailers, it was as if I was being transported to another world. The power and confidence in his voice was and will always be inspiring.” Simply, I hope to bring inspiration to productions and to continue to make people smile.”
