• Local ‘Worst of the Worst' list includes serious crimes, also traffic and weed offenses (wgntv.com) — Residents should know that at least 30 people on Homeland Security’s Illinois “worst of the worst” deportation list were already locked up at the federal prison in Thomson, mostly for drug crimes. A WGN investigation found some listed offenses were relatively minor, like traffic violations or shoplifting, and that many people deported from Thomson left prison early through good-conduct credits.
