1 Injured In Fire At Tinley Senior Living Facility: Fire Chief
A fire broke out in one unit of Brementowne Manor Monday afternoon.
TINLEY PARK, IL — A fire inside a second floor unit in senior living apartments in Tinley Park was quickly contained by the building's sprinkler system, Tinley Park Fire Chief Steve Klotz said.
Tinley Park Fire was called at 12:47 p.m. Monday to Brementowne Manor, 16130 Oak Park Ave., for a report of an activated fire alarm. Reports of smoke on the second floor prompted an upgraded response, Klotz said. A fire started on the stove inside one of the units, then igniting the cabinet above it, Klotz said. The building's sprinkler system activated, holding the fire in check to one unit, he added.
Residents were evacuated prior to the fire department's arrival. A female resident of the unit involved in the fire suffered burns to her arm, and was transported to Palos Community Hospital.
