PAWS Tinley Park Christmas Memory Tree A Tribute To Special Pets & People
The tree recognizing the people and pets who have touched people's lives is on display in front of the shelter.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A Christmas Memory Tree at PAWS Tinley Park celebrates the special pets that have touched people's lives.
The large fir tree outside the shelter, 8301 W. 191st St., honors the people and pets that have brought happiness into the lives of shelter staff, adopters and volunteers. Some have died, but others are still living—they all adorn the tree, a staff member told Patch.
Pictures are submitted to be hung on the tree with a red or white ribbon to honor or to memorialize these special people or pets.

Letters of gratitude are sent to participants. If a pet is submitted belonging to someone else, a heartwarming letter acknowledging that gift is sent to the owner, staff said.
"The Memory Tree continues to be a very meaningful holiday season tradition for those who participate and a perfect way to celebrate those who have been or continue to be a special part of all of our lives," staff told Patch.
